Autumn = time for wool
Gensermønster fra Figgy's
The plan is to make lots of wool clothes for the local crafts fair 4th November. It's getting cold up here, and we've already had some nights (and days) below 0 C - and wool keeps you nice and warm. So here's a start with a shirt and trousers size 4/5 years.
Shirt pattern from Sewing for boys.
A little big on my 3-year-old, but wearable. The model liked the set and has ordered a purple one for himself (he already has a shirt that I made last winter). I added extra length to the shirt so it stays in the trousers and warms the back and butt.
Flatlock seams so no seams irritate sensitive skin (the trousers are assembled with ordinary overlock seams). The fabric is a little thicker than wool underwear usually is and can be used as middle layer or base layer on cold days.
Buttonhole on the inside of the trousers' waistband so the elasic can be adjusted or replaced.
