When I was preparing for the market in June, I thought making beanies was a good idea, so I made a pattern in four different sizes and made some in each size. The market was on the first really warm day of the year and I sold ONE. So E got to choose one of the beanies in his size when I got back.
And E loves this hat. He didn't want to take it off any more - but when he had gone to bed, he said: "Mum, it's a little bit warm under here..." and took it off anyway. But he still often wears it (both inside and out) when there is no need for a hat. And he thought his little brother ought to have the smaller one in the same fabric...
I made a beanie with six seams at the top - I think these fit much better than the ones with four. The sizes are 46/48, 50/52, 54/56 and 57+ (cm head circumference). All hats can be used earlier than that - they will then be a little baggy, but the ribbing keeps them in place. I am making an e-book from this pattern, so soon you will be able to buy it.
